Examination and grading

Examination criteria
Evaluation of course activities can be carried out in several ways: written exams, oral exams, oral project presentations, reports, posters, laboratory and theoretical exercises all following the local institutional regulations.

If a student fails exams and has moved between Home and exchange university before the re-exam, the Home and exchange university are obliged to make the re-exam possible for the student.

The assessment of the courses is in accordance with the "European Credit Transfer System", where 60 ECTS represents one year of full study.

Grading scheme and conversion at the partner universities
The partner universities follow different grading scales. To secure the transparency of grading throughout Europe, a common European ECTS scheme has been made (see table below). The ECTS grading scheme will be used for all the courses of the MSc as well as the corresponding grade from the national grading system. This is done to enable credit transfer and to avoid mistakes during translation as well as to give an integrated European standard that can be used and understood with job applications throughout Europe.
