The aim of the course is to present different aspects of insect
chemical ecology in such a way as to give PhD students in other
fields an overview of the subject and, at the same time, give students
in chemical ecology an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in
their own as well as related fields of research. Some of the course
topics:
Insect physiology and sensory biology
Impact of chemical stimuli on insect behaviour and ecology
Chemistry of behaviourally active compounds and methods for analyses
Current and future applications: plant protection, control of insects
as disease vectors, robotics and evolutionary research
