| Course abstract |
The aim of the course is to present Ph.D.-students for various
approaches to inflammation in the field of Veterinary Pathology.
Overviews concerning general aspects of inflammation and different
identification techniques for the evaluation of the inflammatory
process will be presented. The inflammatory process will be addressed
with reference to selected organs, infectious agents, and animal
species through whole or half day seminars:· *Gastrointestinal
tract·
* Host reactions to parasites·
* Inflammation in fish· Pneumonia·
* Inflammation in joints
During the course the Ph.D.-students will be exposed to material
through: overview lectures, post mortem work, and slide/article
seminars. During the slide/article seminars the students will read
histopathological slides. The slides are related to articles, which
the students will receive 2 months ahead of the course. Together
with the slides questions will be provided, and following each session
each group will present the slides and articles in plenum.
